About

MY

STORY

After my Master's diploma in Finland, I decided to specialize in Early Music at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague (KonCon). KonCon also offered lessons in the Alexander Technique (AT) which were my introduction to the AT.

It was when I started teaching baroque double bass in the Helsinki Conservatory in 2006, that I realized how much the AT had helped me in playing music, practising, performing and handling demanding social situations. I decided to train as an AT teacher, graduating with the three-year training in 2011.

Currently I am teaching Alexander Technique and baroque double bass at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and Novia University of Applied Sciences.

I have a special interest in the potential of working with the mind through the body and body through the mind, as these two can never be separated. Currently, I'm completing an MSc in psychology and neuroscience at King's College London.
